Fayette County Coroner Gary Ginn identified the victim as 47-year-old Charles Bowen.
The Lexington Police Department tells WKYT that they were called around 10:45 Tuesday night to Liberty Road at Burkewood Drive after a car hit Bowen.
Bowen was taken to UK Hospital, where he later died.
The road was closed for several hours overnight, but has since reopened.
Police say the driver of the car, 35-year-old Bryce Daniel, has been charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol.
The crash is still under investigation.
Court records show a previous DUI arrest for Daniel in Logan County. He was arrested August 5, 2017. Records indicate he pleaded guilty in October of that year.
