Barren County Schools has announced the appointment of Anthony Janes as the district’s new Director of Pupil Personnel (DPP).

Janes, who has served as Director/Principal at College Street Campus since 2020, brings over 23 years of experience in education, leadership, and student support.

“Anthony is a proven leader who has a deep commitment to supporting students and families,” said Superintendent Amy Irwin in a release. “His experience in building relationships, solving complex challenges, and keeping students at the center of every decision makes him an outstanding choice for this important role. We are excited to see the positive impact he will have across our district.”

According to the release, he began his career in Barren County Schools in 2003 as a teacher, coach, and athletic director at Barren County Middle School.

He later served as principal at Park City Elementary before taking on his recent role at College Street Campus, where he led program development, student-centered initiatives, and collaborative problem-solving efforts that yielded measurable improvements in student outcomes.

In his new role, Janes will oversee attendance initiatives, collaborate with schools and families to address barriers to student success, and ensure compliance with state and district policies related to student enrollment and engagement.
