The Kentucky State Police (KSP) are conducting a death investigation after a woman was found deceased from a gunshot wound in the Beaver community of Floyd County.
KSP Pikeville Post received a call from Prestonsburg 911 requesting assistance on Friday, November 21, 2025.
Troopers and investigators responded to the 14000 block of Kentucky Route 979 where they discovered an unresponsive female. The initial investigation indicated that Sarah Slone, 35, of Beaver, had suffered a fatal gunshot wound.
She was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Floyd County Coroner’s Office. Her body has been sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy.
The investigation is being led by KSP Detective Dylan Mullins, assisted on scene by KSP personnel.
