The man charged with leading police on a chase just before yesterday’s police shooting at a Louisville Walmart went before a judge this morning.
Jeremy Bozarth, 44, was arraigned for fleeing police, speeding, and seven other charges.
Kentucky State Police tried to pull Bozarth over on the Gene Snyder Freeway after noticing the vehicle he was driving had expired tags. They also learned Bozarth had two outstanding warrants and a suspended license.
Police say Bozarth didn’t stop and was going over 100 MPH before getting off the Snyder at the New Cut Road exit. After Bozarth crashed at New Cut and Outer Loop, a passenger in his vehicle took off running with a gun headed toward the Walmart. When that man tried to carjack a woman in the pharmacy drive thru, he was shot by a Louisville Metro Police Department officer.
