Carroll County Schools will be closed Thursday and Friday, Aug. 29-30 due to illness among the staff and students. School will also be out on Monday, Sept. 2 for the Labor Dar holiday.
“We certainly appreciate everyone’s efforts in trying to keep our system up and running smoothly, but we have come to the point that itis not sustainable for everyone’s health and safety,” Carroll County Schools Superintendent Casey Jaynes said.
After initially saying that athletic events would remain as scheduled, Carroll County Schools sent an update saying Friday’s Carroll County High School football game against Kentucky Country Day has been canceled due to illness and injuries.
No other games have been reported as cancelled. Athletes will have limited access to locker rooms and the gyms.
